Special Exhibitions
July 20 (Sat) – September 23 (Mon), 2013
The history of the Mediterranean is the history of dynamic interaction between the cultures of the East and West. Through over 200 art treasures from the Louvre’s collections, this exhibition will reveal the astonishing richness and diversity of cultural exchange in the region during some 4000 years. Organized as a joint project of the Louvre’s eight curatorial departments, the exhibition will ponder the Mediterranean’s cultural allure through wide-ranging works of sculpture, craft, and painting.
