Social Media Policy
Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum provides news and information using X, Facebook and Instagram and LINE and Youtube.
1. Purpose
By providing information on social media in a timely way, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum seeks to promote understanding of its undertakings and enhance the convenience of its users.
2. Content provided
The Museum provides information about exhibitions and exhibition-related events, as well as special events and Museum operating hours.
3. Updates
As a rule, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum updates are posted daily, except on prescribed holidays, from 9:30 to 17:30 (from 9:30 to 20:00 on Fridays when the Museum remains open evenings).
4. “Follow,” “repost,” “friend,” and “like”
As a rule, the Museum does not respond to “follow,” “repost,” “friend,” and “like” interactions from other accounts.
5. Reply to Postings
As a rule, the Museum does not reply to posted opinions or questions.
6. Deactivate / Disable
In cases where information provision on X, Facebook and Instagram becomes difficult, the Museum will promptly deactivate or disable its account.
7. Intellectual Property
Intellectual property rights for all information provided on social media (texts, photos, etc.) belong to Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum or the original author. The user is further prohibited from copying or transferring information without permission, unless such action is allowed under “copying for personal use” or “quotation” by the Copyright Act.
The Museum reserves the right to delete any user posting it deems to be inappropriate, having the following content:
(1) Content that is or may be in violation of laws and regulations.
(2) Content that slanders or abuses specific individuals or groups.
(3) Content for the purpose of political or religious activity.
(4) Content that infringes on the copyrights, trademark rights, portrait rights, or other intellectual property rights of the Museum or third parties holding such rights.
(5) Content for the purpose of advertising, publicity, solicitation, business activity, or financial profit.
(6) Content that discriminates against racial groups, ways of thinking, or creeds, or else promotes such discrimination.
(7) Content injurious to the public order or public morals.
(8) Content that is false or contrary to fact.
(9) Content that discloses personal information without permission or otherwise infringes on personal privacy.
(10) Content that uses or seeks to offer harmful programs or which is thought likely to do so.
(11) Content for the purpose of linking with home pages to which (1) through (10) above apply.
(12) Besides the above, any posted content that Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum deems to be inappropriate.

- The Museum does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the information it provides on social media. Accordingly, the Museum assumes no responsibility whatsoever for injury to the user or a third party that arises as a result of information on social media.
- The Museum assumes no responsibility whatsoever for trouble arising with the user or else between the user and third party, as a result of using social media.
- The Museum assumes no responsibility whatsoever for damage arising from any inappropriate content, as above, appearing on social media.
